Just looked up at the calendar and realized you need some quick gifts before Christmas? Worried about porch pirates and hate the idea of making Jeff Bezos even richer? redbankgreen is here to help with our seasonal feature highlighting gift suggestions from Red Bank shops and businesses.

We find ’em the old-fashioned way: walking into local shops searching for stuff that’s quintessentially Red Bank or just plain unique and fun to give or get. We’ll be popping in here again and again in the weeks leading up to Christmas to show you our finds. Here’s today’s find – and click here if you want to see the previous gift ideas.
What: Count Basie Center for the Arts Centennial Celebration Gear. Hoodies, t-shirts, polos, tote bags, caps, and even a holiday ornament gear commemorating the 100th anniversary of Red Bank’s gem of a theater. There are also classic black Basie Center t-shirts with no mention of the Centennial.

Where: A small pop-up shop dubbed The Holiday Shop, located just to the left of the marquee at the Count Basie Center for the Arts Hackensack Meridian Health Theater at 99 Monmouth Street. The shop will be open an hour before doors for each of the center’s shows leading up to Christmas. On December 23, the shop will be open noon to 4 pm for folks doing last minute shopping.

Why? If you’re reading this, you (or the person you’re buying for) very, very likely have some personal experience, memories, or connection to this 100-year-old cornerstone of Red Bank’s arts scene. Throw in a couple of tickets to some upcoming show and you’re gonna be a Christmas morning hero.

How much? Merch ranges from five bucks for a Koozie, $20 for the blown glass ornament; t-shirts are $25-35; polos $50 and zip up hoodies $60. Basie Center members receive a 15 percent discount.
