
A few ice boaters hit the Navesink River Thursday afternoon for the first few sails of the season as the ice thickened to safe levels overnight.
With the deep cold snap forecast to continue, members of Red Bank’s North Shrewsbury Ice Boat & Yacht Club are optimistic this could be the best season in years for sailing on their home ice.
They welcome spectators from shore, but remind folks the boats move very fast – and there no brakes. Stay well out of the way. (Photos by Brian Donohue.)
