Students at Red Bank Regional High School are getting an unexpected winter break – and administrators a major headache – after flooding from a burst pipe forced the school to cancel in-person learning for at least a full week.
The letter continues:
“The scope of work mandates the use of industrial drying equipment, air movers, and dehumidifiers that generate elevated noise levels and limit access to the impacted areas. The presence of students and staff would pose safety concerns and also limit the effectiveness of the remediation efforts.
Red Bank Regional administrators and maintenance staff, alongside qualified mitigation experts, continue to work diligently to resume normal school operations as soon as possible. In compliance with Department of Education guidelines, Red Bank Regional will remain closed on Wednesday, February 11.”
For February 12th and 13th, we will shift to remote instruction, with the early dismissal schedule for Friday continuing as planned.
School officials said they will update the community further on Friday afternoon as to whether further remote instruction will be needed for the week of February 17th when school resumes after the President’s Day holiday.
“At present,” the letter reads, “We anticipate that the current district calendar will remain unchanged.”
