As a curmudgeonly curator of terrible punctuation on public signs, I’ve seen and shaken my head at a lot of gratuitous quotation marks and pluralizations mistaken as possessives. But double quotes on an ampersand? This new sign outside the laundromat at the corner of Bank Street and Shrewsbury takes it to new levels. I hope the owner of the Laundry Center got a refund, or at least wasn’t paying by the apostrophe.
