The team entered postseason play as the third seed in the NJSIAA Tournament and has already advanced to the state finals.

Boys Swimming: Strong Finishes and Record-Breaking Performances

The RBR Boys Swim Team posted a 5–3 record this season and is currently seeded fifth in the Shore Conference.

At the Monmouth County Championships, the Buccaneers placed fourth overall and captured a county title behind senior Ryan Bailey, who won the 100 Breaststroke and set a new school record.

Additional highlights:

  • Ryan Bailey finished fourth in the 200 IM

  • Mac Koster placed fourth in the 100 Backstroke, breaking a school record

  • Will Babik placed fourth in the 100 Butterfly

  • 200 Medley Relay (Koster, Bailey, Babik, Ryan Mulcahy) placed third

  • 400 Freestyle Relay placed fifth

The boys broke two school records at the county meet and will compete in the NJSIAA Tournament as the seventh seed.

Track and Field Standouts Shine Statewide

RBR’s success extended beyond the pool, with senior athletes delivering record-breaking performances during the indoor track season.

Peter Gallina (photo below) captured the first Monmouth County long jump championship in school history, leaping a school-record 22 feet, 3.75 inches. Gallina is currently ranked first in New Jersey and 12th nationally in the Indoor Pentathlon and is contending for a spot in the Nike Indoor National Meet.

Senior Julia McCormack (photo below) claimed the Monmouth County championship in the pole vault, setting a school record at 11 feet. She followed that performance by breaking the school record in the triple jump (35 feet, 8 inches) and winning the Shore Conference Championship in the pole vault. McCormack has qualified for the Adidas Indoor National Championship Meet.

Also contributing to the Buccaneers’ strong showing, senior Conor Fagan placed third in the Shore Conference in the 400 meters, running a time of 52.25 seconds.

Wrestlers notch wins

The Red Bank Regional wrestling team hosted the BUC Classic Wrestling Tournament on Saturday, January 10, welcoming a competitive field of sixteen teams.

RBR delivered a strong showing on its home mats, highlighted by:

  • Jason Huss (157) capturing the championship

  • Jack Galligan (144) earning a second-place finish

The tournament was well attended and showcased the strength and sportsmanship of the RBR wrestling program.

Senior Jason Huss continued his outstanding season by reaching the milestone of 100 career victories during the Shore Conference Tournament, held January 23 and 24 at Lakewood High School.

Pictured with his proud family members and coaching staff, Huss’s accomplishment reflects years of dedication, perseverance, and leadership both on and off the mat.
