A driver behind the wheel of a Borough of Red Bank Department of Public Utilities work truck struck a pedestrian at the intersection of Shrewsbury Avenue and Drs. James Parker Boulevard, police and eyewitnesses said.
The crash is under investigation and few other details were immediately available.

In 2025, 11 pedestrians were struck by vehicles, according to RBPD statistics obtained by redbankgreen in January. Eight bicyclists were also struck.
In 2024, there were 15 pedestrians struck, and in 2023, there were ten, previously released data show.
The overall number of accidents in 2025 was 914, according to the statistics provided by the RBPD in January.
Statistics released by the RBPD last year indicate there were 774 crashes in 2023 and 745 in 2024.
