Years in the works, a $4 million overhaul of Red Bank’s Marine Park is set to make its public debut later this month, borough officials said last week.

A new stage alongside the river anchors a 28,000-square-foot open space soon to be planted with grass, where a municipal parking lot long sat. The space was “designed to support community events, cultural celebrations, performances, and recreational programming,” the announcement says.
A ribbon-cutting “community celebration” opening is slated for Saturday, June 27, from 11 a.m. to 2 p.m. It will include food trucks, live music, family-friendly activities, opportunities to check out the new features and representation by local organizations.
Information about a rain date was not immediately available.
