Here’s the answer to last week’s “Where.”
Last week’s photo was a close-up of the frieze atop the front of the Count Basie Center for the Arts Hackensack Meridian Health Theatre. The theater, which opened as The Carlton, is celebrating its 100th anniversary this year.
On a recent summer evening, the details illuminated in golden light against the crepuscular sky were just impossible to resist, and we had to make it the photo for the week.
We were surprised this one stumped so many people, as it sits atop perhaps the most iconic building in town. Several people guessed it was located at Red Bank Catholic High School.
One of them described this week’s challenge as “brutal” in its level of difficulty.
As an avid birdwatcher for five decades who spends most of his time walking looking skyward, the Wheremaster sometimes forgets that most people don’t habitually scan rooflines as they walk the town.
By the way, have you seen the boisterous murder of fish crows and their babies making a ruckus above Broadwalk of late? Sorry, I digress..
Thanks to those who wrote in.
Bill and Judy Fraser, Peter Cavalier, The Colmorgen Kids, Chris Havens, Abby Westgate, Chuck Stern, Kathleen Harbort (who we missed from last week – sorry!)
I hope I got everyone. Please email or text me immediately if we missed you at [email protected] or 848-331-8331. Your sharp eyes and hustle should be properly rewarded.
