YARD SALE, ART WALK, POP FEST, DOG DAYS ALL ON SATURDAY

Dog Days event at Marine Park is among four big events in Red Bank Saturday. See flyer below.

What makes you happy? Adorable dogs? Art? Finding bargains at a yard sale? Seeing the Batmobile in person?

Red Bank has all the above on offer – in spades – on a single September day on Saturday the 19th.

Wow, this is gonna be a busy one.

First, there’s the annual Townwide Yard Sale sponsored by the Red Bank Public Library. It runs from 9 am to 2 pm. There are 60 different addresses participating and no doubt an endless amount of great finds and chances to meet your neighbors and haggle over leaf blowers and such.

After two hours of yard sailing, you can begin Monmouth Arts’ new Red Bank self-guided ArtPop walking tour. Venues open at 11 am. Here’s a map.

From the organizers: Twelve venues will be showing original paintings and sculpture, vintage posters, glass art, David Shrigley prints, new collage work, murals, pottery, and handmade artisanal goods. There will also be a wheel-throwing demo.

And if you’re not pooped from all that (pun intended) you can fit in a visit to Marine Park for the Red Bank Animal Welfare Committee’s annual Dog Days event.

I mean, there’s a dog costume contest. What could be better than that?

Holy Saturdays, Batman. This is one crazy day.

Also starting at noon is the Red Bank Pop Culture Festival sponsored by Jay and Silent Bob’s Secret Stash, Red Bank Rivercenter and the Borough of Red Bank. Admission is free, with some paid attractions. It runs until 4 pm on Broad Street between Monmouth and Front Streets.
