Red Bank Fire Department crews descended on the West Side Lofts building on Bridge Avenue to investigate thick smoke in the hallways at around 6:20 pm New Year’s Eve. The building was evacuated, much to the consternation of residents who were preparing for their holiday festivities. The source of the smoke was still undetermined at the time of this post. RBFD radio chatter indicated a “culinary mishap” was the leading theory.
