Dust off yer geetar, groom your rabbit and brush up on your Marcel Marecau gestures. Auditions for StreetLife are right around the corner.

And if you want to be on one of Red Bank’s corners performing this summer, this is your chance to showcase your talent.

RiverCenter, which sponsors the summer-long entertainment series, is looking for musicians, entertainers, musicians, jugglers, mimes or just about anybody with a talent to show off to a panel of judges later this month at the Count Basie Theatre.

Winners will get hooked up with a spot on the agency’s roster of performances throughout the summer.

Pay isn’t great, but, hey, it’s a nice gig for aspiring performers, said RiverCenter Executive Director Nancy Adams. Without a large sponsor for the annual series, now in its eleventh year, payouts to performers are part of the agency’s limited budget, she said. The pay won’t be decided until later, but Adams said it’ll likely be in line with last year’s.

“Exposure is really what’s important for the performers,” she said.

The auditions take place from 6 to 8p March 29 on the second floor of the Basie, and are open to all performers 16 years old and up.

Performers are asked to bring three- to four-minutes of material highlighting their skills, a biography and references, if available. Previous StreetLife performers are not required to return for auditions.

The StreetLife series will run Saturday nights from June 4 to August 27 at various locations throughout the business district.
