NO MORE WHITE %$&^, PLEASE

Ignore that layer of white you awoke to Wednesday morning. Speak not its name.

The season is spring, lest we forget the vernal equinox we passed on Sunday. Any white, flaky stuff falling from the sky is transitory, a last dying cough of winter.

The forecast from the National Weather Service would seem to bear this out. The agency sees a mix of rain and %$&^ through the morning and afternoon, with up to an inch of %$&^ accumulating, mostly on grass rather than roads and sidewalks.

Then the %$&^ turns to rain, on-and-off, through Thursday. Goodbye, %$&^.

Here’s the NWS outlook:

Today: Rain and %$&^, becoming all rain after 4pm, then gradually ending. High near 41. East wind between 7 and 14 mph. Chance of precipitation is 90%. Total daytime %$&^ accumulation of less than one inch possible.

Tonight: Rain, %$&^, and sleet before 1am, then rain and %$&^ between 1am and 2am, then snow after 2am. Low around 33. Northeast wind between 14 and 17 mph. Chance of precipitation is 90%. New %$&^ and sleet accumulation of less than a half inch possible.

Thursday: Rain showers, mainly before 11am. High near 43. North wind between 13 and 17 mph. Chance of precipitation is 80%. New precipitation amounts of less than a tenth of an inch possible.

Thursday Night: Partly cloudy, with a low around 25. North wind between 13 and 15 mph.

Friday: Sunny, with a high near 46. Northwest wind between 13 and 16 mph.

Friday Night: Partly cloudy, with a low around 25.

Saturday: Mostly sunny, with a high near 45.

Saturday Night: Partly cloudy, with a low around 27.

Sunday: Mostly cloudy, with a high near 43.

Sunday Night: Mostly cloudy, with a low around 29.

Monday: Mostly sunny, with a high near 44.

Monday Night: Partly cloudy, with a low around 30.
