Red Bank’s Fixx appears set to become an outpost of Belmar’s 10th Ave. Burrito Company.

Plans approved by the borough planning office call for the West Front Street nightclub to become a 108-seat restaurant with two bars.

The plans, which did not require an appearance before either the planning or zoning board, call for the facade of the building to be painted in a Benjamin Moore historical color called Dragon’s Blood, which has won approval from the Visual Improvement Committee at Red Bank RiverCenter. Interior schematics show clusters of tables along the length of the first floor and a new kitchen.

Terms of the agreement between the two businesses could not be learned. Fixx owner Mike Gilson declined comment, citing redbankgreen‘s coverage of two riots that led to a temporary suspension of its liquor license earlier this year.

10th Ave. owner Brian Katz could not be reached for comment.

Gilson and a group of investors won approval in 2008 to tear down the steel-gray building, at the corner of Boat Club Way, and replace it with a sports bar and restaurant with apartments above it. But the changes were never made.

Formerly known as Chubby’s Waterside Café, Fixx was the scene of what police termed a “near riot” in 2009. Following two melees within a matter of weeks in 2013, the borough council ordered the bar shut down for 20 days last January.

In addition to its Belmar restaurant, 10th Ave. Burrito has one in Point Pleasant Beach.
