RUMSON: PAIR CHARGED IN ARMED ROBBERY

RED BANK: GUNMAN ROBS PEDESTRIAN

Robbery occurring on 2-13-15 at West Bergen Place—Liquor Store. Unknown male displayed handgun and stole cash and a cell phone. Fled on foot. Ptl. Cevin Albert [Clarification: Police Chief Darren McConnell says this robbery, of a pedestrian, occurred near the West Bergen Place entrance to the Montgomery Terrace Apartments, and that the victim called police from outside Yogi’s Liquors, at West Bergen and Leighton Avenue. The gunman, who fled into the apartment complex, was described as a black male, about 5 foot 11, 150 or 160 pounds, wearing black pants, a black North Face jacket, black Nike sneakers and red-rimmed glasses.]

MIDDLETOWN: ARREST IN DRUG ROBBERY

AUTHORITIES_MTOWN2•Middletown police released the following on Friday afternoon regarding a robbery Thursday evening:

On December 19, 2013 at approximately 6:45 p.m. the Middletown Police Department responded to a report of an armed robbery at the Rite Aid Pharmacy located on Newman Springs Road in Lincroft, NJ. The suspect, Jayson Turegano, age 24, from Hurley’s Lane in Lincroft, NJ, entered the store and jumped over the pharmacy counter. Turegano then grabbed the pharmacist, placed a scissor blade to his neck, threatened him and demanded Oxycodone pills. He then fled the store with a bottle of pills.

FAIR HAVEN: ROBBER GETS NINE YEARS

A 69-year-old Staten Island man who admitted robbing a Fair Haven antiques store at gunpoint last summer has been sentenced to 114 months in prison, federal law enforcement officials said Tuesday.

Robert Fiolka, who wore a “flesh-colored” mask and toted a gun in the June, 2012 robbery of Blue Stove Antiques on River Road, made off with $200,000 in jewelry, according to a press release from U.S. Attorney Paul J. Fishman.

ARRESTS MADE IN HOLDUP, BURGLARIES

call-in-the-authorities• On Wednesday, April 17, 2013 the Middletown Police Department Detective Bureau arrested Michael Crupi, age 35, from Linden Avenue in Middletown, NJ, for armed robbery of the Bevaquas’s Deli on March 25, 2013. Police say Crupi entered the store, displayed a handgun and demanded cash from the clerk. He then fled the scene with an undisclosed amount of cash.

Detective Laurence Schachtel of the Middletown Police Department conducted a lengthy investigation and was able to develop information linking Crupi to the robbery. Detective Schachtel was then contacted by New York City Police Detectives assigned to the 123 Precinct who had seen a suspect flyer sent out by Detective Schachtel. Crupi fit the description of a suspect who committed two armed robberies in Staten Island, one of a Game Stop Store and the other of a bakery.

ARMED ROBBERY AT MIDDLETOWN RACEWAY

This just in from the Middletown police:

On April 18, 2013 at approximately 5:40 am a black male subject, approximately 6′-0″ tall with a stocky build and a thin goatee beard, wearing black jeans, a black long sleeve shirt and a yellow baseball hat entered the Raceway Gas Station located at Highway 35 and Pine Street in Middletown.

The subject displayed a silver colored revolver handgun and demanded cash from the attendant.

FAIR HAVEN: 69-YEAR-OLD COPS TO ROBBERY

A 69-year-old man admitted robbing Blue Stove Antiques in Fair Haven at gunpoint last June, federal law enforcement officials said Wednesday.

Robert A. Fiolka, of Staten Island, pleaded guilty before U.S. District Judge Freda L. Wolfson in Trenton to an Information charging him with Hobbs Act robbery and use of a firearm in furtherance of a crime of violence.

He faces up to life in prison at sentencing, scheduled for July 11.

As reported by redbankgreen, Fiolka was also linked to three other robberies dating back to 2007, according to the FBI. Those cases were not mentioned, however, in the announcement of Fiolka’s plea by U.S. Attorney for New Jersey Paul Fishman.

Nor were Fiolka’s priors, which included a 1967 armed robbery of a bank in Matawan in which a bank employee was taken hostage, redbankgreen has confirmed.

A 68-year-old Staten Island man accused of robbing a Fair Haven antiques store at gunpoint in June has been linked to three jewelry store robberies dating back to 2007, the FBI says.

And just days before his arrest, the suspect appeared to be casing one of those stores for a second try, the FBI suggests in a document filed in the case.

On January 31, 2012 at approximately 5:50 pm the Middletown Police Department responded to a report of an armed robbery at the Rite Aid Pharmacy located on Newman Springs Road in the Lincroft section of Middletown. Police say the suspect was described as a white male with a thin build between 5’08 and 6’00 tall. He was wearing a black hooded sweatshirt with a grey stripe on the front, large black framed sunglasses and dark colored pants.

MAN IN GOGGLES ROBS LINCROFT STATION

Middletown police are looking for a man who robbed the BP gas station on Newman Springs Road in the Lincroft section of town before dawn Saturday.

The suspect, described as tall and skinny, and was wearing dark, tinted swimming goggles, displayed a silver-and-black handgun to the station attendant and demanded money, Detective Lieutenant Steve Dollinger said.
