A runner passes one of two new murals on opposite sides of White Street in Red Bank last week.
Created by muralist Bob Mataranglo, at right, they depict Navesink River scenes with bas relief elements, including the Monmouth Boat Club, the Riverside Gardens Park archway and a sailboat.
The Monmouth Reform Temple in Tinton Falls — site of the Monmouth Festival of the Arts (MFA) — will once more be the setting for a Student Art Competition and Art Workshops on Sunday, February 9.
All junior year student artists from Monmouth and Ocean counties are invited to participate, free of charge, in the annual event. Winners receive first, second and third place prizes of $100, $75 and $50. Art competition judges include professional artists Patricia Hutchinson, Amy Faris, and Bob Mataranglo, and a reception for family and friends will take place between 4 and 5 pm, when the winners are announced.
