radiancechamberensembleThe Radiance Chamber Ensemble brings a ray of sunshine to the Middletown Library Sunday with a free program that celebrates winter’s frosty pleasures.

As last weekend’s positively polar plunge confirmed, winter is still very much a thing in this neck of the Greater Red Bank Green. But if the season of the single digits boasts of any truly elegant pleasures, it’s the ability to warm oneself in front of a chamber-music hearth while the outside world goes slipping and cursing about its business.

And the days and nights to come offer music lovers several opportunities to slip into something a bit more civilized; all of them free of charge. More →

The achievements of dozens of standout scholars, athletes and performing artists were honored by the Rumson-Fair Haven Regional High School Board of Education, in a June 16 ceremony at the school’s auditorium.

Special honors went to senior Andrew Maris, commended for achieving the status of Semi-Finalist in the Final Round of the Presidential Scholarship Competition, and to junior A.J. Kelly, who was selected for both the Dwight D. Eisenhower Outstanding Leader of Character Award, and the St. Michael’s College Book Award.

RUMSON-FAIR HAVEN ‘NIGHT OF THE ARTS’ SPOTLIGHTS AWARD-WINNING TALENTS

On the evening of May 28, the annual “RFH Night of the Arts” spotlighting the spring concert and student art exhibit took place at Rumson-Fair Haven Regional High School. This year’s event featured artwork and musical performances by RFH students who were honored at the Monmouth County Teen Arts Festival, held this past March at Brookdale Community College.

Attendees at “RFH Night of the Arts” enjoyed the spring concert including performances by the school’s Concert Band, Jazz Orchestra, Chorus, and String Ensemble, as well as solo acts. The RFH Jazz Choir performed for the opening of the Teen Arts Festival, while the Jazz Orchestra received the prized “Top of the Top” designation for the third consecutive year. Based on their performance, a jazz ensemble comprised of RFH students including Paddy Ahimovic and Christopher Fahey was invited to perform at the Monmouth County Art Education Awards ceremony, and RFH art students Taylor Blewett, Becca Ley, and Lauren Mueller were named “Top of the Top” in visual arts.
