call-in-the-authorities• On February 29, 2012 Detectives Kevin Gardiner and Laurence Schachtel arrested Brittany Stewart, age 20, from Cresci Boulevard in Hazlet, NJ and Kenneth Dellapietro, age 24, from Sunset Avenue in Port Monmouth, NJ, for committing three residential burglaries throughout Middletown Township over a two month period.

The pair was charged with committing burglaries on Peach Blossom Lane, Brainard Avenue and Hialeah Avenue after police recovered property stolen from the homes.

An Ocean County resident is facing drunken driving and other charges, as well as possible deportation, following a three-vehicle crash that seriously injured another man in Middletown Tuesday night, the Asbury Park Press reports.

Meanwhile, Robert H. Reimann, 54, of Atlantic Highlands, remains hospitalized at Jersey Shore Medical Center in Npetune, where he was flown by helicopter after being trapped in his car for an hour following the 6 p.m. collision on Navesink River Road, the Press reports.

call-in-the-authorities• The Middletown Police Department advises that it has received numerous reports of contractor’s work vans being broken into and a variety of hand tools and generators being taken from the vans. The thefts have occurred over a three week period. The police report that the suspects are either entering unlocked vans or smashing out a window in order to gain entry.

Police agencies in surrounding towns have reported experiencing similar thefts. The Middletown Police Department recommends parking these types of vehicles in a secure garage if possible or removing valuable tools if leaving these vehicles parked on the street.
