Red Bank Catholic High School will increase its contribution for upgrades at Count Basie Fields under a new cost-sharing arrangement approved by the Red Bank council last month.
Payments by the school, which uses the facility as its home football stadium, will help fund replacement of the cushiony running track, a project that got underway last week.

Bright lights and an anxious crowd. Players overwhelmed with pressure, almost wishing it was over before it starts, but thinking about the rush of victory and the accolades that follow.
This is what it feels like for players competing in the Count Basie Cup, the annual pair of soccer games that pit teams from the Red Bank Charter and Red Bank Middle schools, and take place under the lights tonight at Count Basie Fields.
Upcoming: Thursday, August 16
Held at Red Banks newly renovated riverfront hotel, the evening, co-sponsored by hotel owner J.P. Barry Hospitality, will offer guests culinary samplings from more than 20 borough eateries, as well as wine samplings, libations and craft beer selections from New Jersey breweries.
