Taking a lesson from art gallery openings, a Broad Street jewelry store is planning to bring a party atmosphere to nighttime shopping this summer with the addition of in-store live music, food and special events.
Hamilton Jewelers is hosting a series of Thursday-night events over the next four weeks with focus on wine, cognac and fine fashion. Two of them, including this week’s, are open to the public; the others are invite-only.
On Thursday, July 19, a sommelier from the vintner and silver designer Sandra Jordan is scheduled to give demonstrations in the art of decanting wine.
Jordan’s designs and signed copies of her book, The Art of Decanting: Bringing Wine to Life, will also be available. A classical guitarist will perform.
Aug. 16 brings a fall fashion preview to the store, with offerings from CoCo Pari, Sciortino Tailors, Chic Optique and AquaMedica Spa. A chef from Doris and Ed’s restaurant in Highlands will put on a demonstration, and noshes and wine will be available.
The invite-only events feature such goodies as a cognac-tasting event.
Each of the parties is scheduled to kick of a weekend of special diplays by jewelry and watch makers such as Baume & Mercier, Hermes, and Judith Ripka.
