5:12p: Traffic at the Broad Street rail crossing near Newman Springs Road reported to be a “mess.”
5:14p: train reported to be leaving the station northbound. Crossing at Bergen Place (Drs. Parker Boulevard) is open, according to police radio transmission.
The fire alarm on Shrewsbury Avenue turned out to be a non-event.

5:45p: Branch Avenue in Little Silver remains closed as far north as Markham Place.
6:13p: We’re still unable to get any information about the propane leak from the Little Silver Police Department, which is on the scene.
6:27p: NJTransit reports it resumed service between Red Bank and Long Branch about 5:30 and that residual delays have now been cleared up.
6:38p: Volunteer firefighters are packing up at the scene. No details yet, but we’re told it involved a Winnebago at the Citgo station beside the railroad tracks, where there’s a propane refilling station.
