Today's Red Bank oRBit has a first look at Private Lives, the latest (and
last of the season) production at Two River Theater.
As you'll see, it's an old warhorse of the British stage Noel Coward wrote
and originally starred in it in 1930 that's been taught some new dance
steps by director KJ Sanchez (right), the woman who brought us the Iraq
War oral history project ReEntry a few months back. The sophisticated comedy
of love, remarriage and irrational impulse has been transplanted from its
European setting to 1929 Buenos Aires, with a largely Latino cast and a
touch of the tango.
Also in today's edition, Music Week continues apace, with the return of Lord
of the Lounge Bob Egan to Tim McLoones Supper Club. We'll tell you
about the cabaret king's latest Variety Showcase Night going on this
evening, and preview a few of the offbeat and exciting events he's got lined
up for that futurama space atop the old HoJo's flying
saucer.
Whether you're looking back or looking forward, it's always worth a look to
see what's up in oRBit.
