A raid on a River Street house that followed an “extensive” investigation” resulted in the arrest of four men on heroin possession and other charges Friday night, Red Bank police reported this morning.

On Friday evening Red Bank Police executed a search warrant at 155 River Street. Four people were arrested and charged with various narcotics offenses. The warrant was issued as a result of an extensive narcotic investigation by Det. Robert Clayton, and Ptl. Nicholas Maletto and Jorge Torres of the newly re-established Anti-Crime Unit.
Anselmo Mejia-Sarabia, 31years old, and Ariselda Rodriguez, 21 years old, of Red Bank were charged with Possession of Heroin, Possession of Heroin with Intent to Distribute, Possession in a School Zone, Possession within 500 feet of a Public Housing Complex, and Possession of Narcotic Paraphernalia. Edward Riley, 44 years old, of Red Bank was charged with Possession of Heroin, Possession of Heroin with Intent to Distribute, Possession in a School Zone, and Possession within 500 feet of a Public Housing Complex. Juana Merino-Diaz, 50 years old of Red Bank, was charged with Possession of Narcotic Paraphernalia. Mejia-Sarabia’s bail was set at $131,000, Riley’s bail was set at $50,000 Rodriguez and Merino-Diaz’ were released on their own recognizance. Mejia-Sarabia, was also found to be wanted by the US Immigration and Customs Enforcement.
Red Bank Police were assisted at the scene by a K-9 unit from the Monmouth County Sheriffs Department.
