We’re in for “the mildest weather that’s occurred in quite a spell,” says the National Weather Service.

It won’t come with abundant sunshine, and it will be brief. But temperatures in the Red Bank area are expected to surpass 50 degrees Thursday and reach as high as 63 on Friday before retreating back into the mid-40s through the weekend.

Here’s the forecast:

Today: Partly sunny, with a high near 53. West wind around 7 mph.

Tonight: Mostly cloudy, with a low around 42. South wind between 6 and 8 mph.

Friday: Partly sunny, with a high near 61. West wind between 8 and 17 mph.

Friday Night: Mostly clear, with a low around 38. West wind between 14 and 18 mph.

Saturday: Sunny, with a high near 46. Windy, with a west wind between 21 and 26 mph, with gusts as high as 36 mph.

Saturday Night: Mostly clear and blustery, with a low around 28.

Sunday: Partly sunny, with a high near 42.

Sunday Night: Mostly cloudy, with a low around 28.

Washington’s Birthday: Partly sunny, with a high near 41.

Monday Night: A chance of snow. Mostly cloudy, with a low around 28. Chance of precipitation is 30%.

Tuesday: A chance of rain and snow. Partly sunny, with a high near 42. Chance of precipitation is 40%.
