At least one minor injury was reported in a late-morning accident in Rumson Friday, causing a brief shutdown of a section of one of the borough’s main roads.
The accident, involving a silver Chrysler Sebring convertible and a white Honda Pilot, occurred at the intersection of Rumson Road and Avenue of Two Rivers at about 11:30 a.m.
Police and first aid responders blocked off traffic at the heavily-traveled roadway as a wrecking crew swept up broken glass and plastic from the two vehicles and prepped to tow them away.
The driver of the Sebring, who police said appeared to have minor injuries, was put on a stretcher and taken to the hospital. The driver of the Pilot received medical attention on the scene.
Other details of the accident were unavailable at the time, and Rumson police are investigating.
