mtpd-patrol-car• On October 10, 2011 at approximately 2:10 am Patrolman Richard Fulham was on patrol in the area of Thompson Avenue when he stopped a vehicle for swerving into the opposite lane of traffic. The officer approached the driver, identified as Joseph Dinse, age 33, from Creek Road in Keansburg, NJ, at which he point he detected a strong odor of an alcoholic beverage coming from inside the car.

Officer Fulham conducted an investigation which resulted in the arrest of Dinse for Driving While Intoxicated and Reckless Driving. He was transported to police headquarters where he was processed and released pending a court date.

• On October 10, 2011 at approximately 2:25 am Corporal Bernard Chenoweth was on patrol in the area of Leonardville Road when he stopped a vehicle for committing multiple violations. Officer Chenoweth approached the driver, identified as Thomas Hawkins, age 46, from Dori Lane in Barnegat, NJ, at which point he detected the odor of an alcoholic beverage coming from inside the car.

Officer Chenoweth conducted an investigation which resulted in Hawkins being arrested for Driving While Intoxicated and Reckless Driving. He was transported to police headquarters where he was processed and released pending a court date.

• On October 10, 2011 at approximately 3:05 am Patrolman Frank Mazza was on patrol in the area of the Bayshore Waterfront Park at which point he observed a suspicious vehicle parked in the parking lot. The officer approached the vehicle at which point he observed a ziplock baggie containing Marijuana in plain view stuffed between the seats.

Officer Mazza conducted an investigation which resulted in the recovery of the Marijuana and the arrest of Leo Scully, age 22, from Campbell Avenue in Middletown, NJ, for Possession of under 50 Grams of Marijuana. Scully was transported to police headquarters where he was processed and released pending a court date.

• On October 9, 2011 at approximately 12:30 am Patrolman Richard Fulham was assigned to the DWI checkpoint at the intersection of Highway 35 and Navesink River Road when a vehicle operated by Brianne Tysk, age 31, from Shore Drive in Highlands, NJ, entered the checkpoint. Officer Fulham approached the vehicle at which point he detected a strong odor of an alcoholic beverage coming from inside the car.

Officer Fulham conducted an investigation which resulted in Tysk being arrested for Driving While Intoxicated and Reckless Driving. She was transported to police headquarters where she was processed and released pending a court date.

• On October 8, 2011 at approximately 1:45 AM Sergeant Paul Bailey was on patrol in the area of Nutswamp Road when he stopped a vehicle for swerving in and out of its lane of travel. Officer Bailey approached the driver, identified as Bartlett Lentini, age 22, from Carpenter Street in Red Bank, NJ, at which point he detected the odor of an alcoholic beverage coming from inside the car.

Sergeant Bailey and Patrolman Andrew Micalizzi conducted an investigation which resulted in the arrest of Lentini for Driving While Intoxicated. He was transported to police headquarters where he was processed and released pending a court date.

• On October 8, 2011 at approximately 11:00 am Patrolman Nicholas Fenezia responded to the Sears Store in reference to a report of a shoplifting. Upon arrival he was advised by store security that they had observed Regina Hancoski, age 56, from Benton Avenue in Leonardo, NJ, attempt to shoplift a Panasonic Cordless Phone.

Officer Fenezia conducted an investigation and arrested Hancoski for Shoplifting. She was transported to police headquarters where she was processed and released pending a court date.

• On October 6, 2011 at approximately 8:45 pm Patrolman John Soltysik responded to the area of Navesink Avenue in reference to a report of a hit and run motor vehicle accident. Upon arrival witnesses advised the officer that a vehicle had struck a utility pole and then fled the area to Clay Court. Officer Soltysik was able to locate the vehicle and approached the driver, identified as James Irvine, age 44, from Blossom Road in Rumson, NJ.

Officer Soltysik conducted an investigation which resulted in Irvine being arrested for Driving While Intoxicate, Reckless Driving, Refusal to Submit to Breath Tests, Leaving the Scene of a Motor Vehicle Accident and Failure to Report a Motor Vehicle Accident. He was transported to police headquarters where he was processed and released pending a court date.

• On October 6, 2011 at approximately 9:15 pm Patrolman Anthony Gigante and Patrolman Felipe Benedit of the Quality of Life Unit were on patrol in the area of Fairview School when they observed three suspicious vehicles parked in the parking lot. The officers approached the vehicles and observed Marijuana in plain view in two of the vehicles.

The officers conducted an investigation which resulted in the recovery of the Marijuana and the arrests of Henry Muench IV, age 20, from Ocean Boulevard in Leonardo, NJ for Possession of under 50 Grams of Marijuana and Possession of Drug Paraphernalia and William Froner, age 20, from Murphy Road in Middletown, NJ, for Possession of under 50 Grams of Marijuana. Both subjects were transported to police headquarters where they were processed and released pending a court date.

• The Middletown Police Department reports the arrests of the following subjects for various offenses:

Lynn Moretti, age 39, from Ocean Avenue in Middletown, NJ, arrested on October 6, 2011 by Patrolman Felipe Benedit and Patrolman Anthony Gigante of the Quality of Life Unit on a Contempt of Court warrant issued by the Keansburg Municipal Court. She was held on $840.00 bail.

George Shahid, age 20, from Lighthouse Drive in Manahawkin, NJ, arrested on October 6, 2011 by Patrolman Stephen Greenwood on a Contempt of Court warrant issued by the Middletown Municipal Court. He was held on $1531.00 bail.

Michael Sammut, age 23, from Second Street in Belford, NJ, arrested on October 6, 2011 by Patrolman Robert McNair on a Contempt of Court warrant issued by the Sayreville Municipal Court. He was released after posting $90.00 bail.

Tonia Casino, age 32, from Center Avenue in  Keansburg, NJ, arrested on October 7, 2011 by Patrolman Anthony Dellatacoma on a Contempt of Court warrant issued by the Keansburg Municipal Court. She was released pending a court date.

Krista Keenan, age 19, from Poole Avenue in Hazlet, NJ, arrested on October 7, 2011 by Patrolman Donald Coates on a Contempt of Court warrants issued by the Middletown and Hazlet Municipal Courts. She was released after posting $1,250.00 bail.

Francis Liana, age 31, from South End Avenue in Middletown, NJ, arrested on October 9, 2011 by Patrolman Anthony Bumbico on Contempt of Court warrants issued by the Middletown, Keansburg and Red Bank Municipal Courts. He was held on $2,091.00 bail.

Daniel Notarnicola, age 52, from Borden Road in Middletown, NJ, arrested on October 9, 2011 by Patrolman James Beirne for Simple Assault. He was released pending a court date.

Katherine Canavan, age 44, from Jefferson Street in Middletown, NJ, arrested on October 7, 2011 by Patrolman Keith Hirschbein on a Contempt of Court warrant issued by the Middletown Municipal Court. She was released pending a court date.

Christopher Gill, age 19, from Grafton Avenue in Newark, NJ, arrested on October 9, 2011 by Patrolman Greg Buhowski on Contempt of Court warrant issued by the Keansburg and New Brunswick Municipal Courts. He was held on $975.00 bail.

Robert Vaccarella, age 48, from Alex Court in Hazlet, NJ, arrested on October 9, 2011 by Corporal Keith MacDonald for Driving While Intoxicated and Reckless Driving after being involved in a motor vehicle accident on Newman Springs Road. He was processed and released pending a court date.

Adam Stanfield, age 36, from Park Avenue in Port Monmouth, NJ, arrested on October 8, 2011 by Patrolman Keith Hirschbein on a Contempt of Court warrant issued by the Newark Municipal Court. He was released pending a court date.

Danielle Boyce, age 36, from Port Monmouth Road in Middletown, NJ, arrested on October 7, 2011 by Patrolman Savino Capilupi on a Contempt of Court warrant issued by the Middletown Municipal Court. She was held on $1,000.00 bail.
