M’TOWN: CHASE YIELDS 330 BAGS OF HEROIN

call-in-the-authorities• On May 9, 2013 the Middletown Police Detective Bureau and Quality of Life Unit executed a search warrant at a residence located on Melrose Place in Middletown, NJ. The search warrant was the result of a month long investigation conducted by Detective Kevin Gardiner and Officers Anthony Bumbico and Richard Fulham of the Quality of Life Unit regarding the sale of Heroin from the residence.

Police arrested Jacquelyn Mozda, age 22, from Melrose Place in Middletown, NJ, for Possession of Heroin, Possession of Heroin with the Intent to Distribute, Possession of Heroin with the Intent to Distribute within 500 Feet of a Public Park, Possession of Heroin with the Intent to Distribute with 1000 Feet of a School Zone, Possession of Hypodermic Syringes and Possession of Drug Paraphernalia. She was held on $100,000.00 bail set by Judge David Bauman of the Monmouth County Superior Court.

Also arrested was Dashawn Nance, age 24, from 70-74 South Arlington Avenue in East Orange, NJ, for Possession of Heroin, Possession of Heroin with the Intent to Distribute, Possession of Heroin with the Intent to Distribute within 500 Feet of a Public Park, Possession of Heroin within 1000 Feet of a School Zone and Possession of Drug Paraphernalia.

Nance was also charged with Resisting Arrest, Hindering Apprehension and Obstructing the Administration of Law. Police say Nance slammed the door to the residence on police and then led them on a foot pursuit through the neighborhood until he was caught by Detective Lieutenant Stephen Dollinger. Police say Nance discarded approximately 330 bags of Heroin during the chase which was recovered by the police.  He was held on $200,000.00 bail set by Judge David Bauman of the Monmouth County Superior Court.

• Kathryn Barcelo, age 21, from Seaside Place in Keansburg, NJ, arrested on May 1, 2013 by Corporal Darrin Simon for Driving While Intoxicated. She was released pending a court date.

• Karl Becker, age 29, from 9th Street in Union Beach, NJ, arrested on May 1, 2013 by Patrolman Ryan Riffert for Possession of Drug Paraphernalia. He was released pending a court date.

• Joseph Jack, age 24, from Edmunds Avenue in Union Beach, NJ, arrested on May 1, 2013 by Patrolman Michael Reuter for Possession of Drug Paraphernalia. He was released pending a court date.

• Brianne O’Brien, age 24, from Oak Street in Keansburg, NJ, arrested on May 1, 2013 by Patrolman Ryan Riffert for Possession of Drug Paraphernalia. She was released pending a court date.

• Evan Petracca, age 21, from Upper Main Street in South Amboy, NJ, arrested on May 1, 2013 by Patrolman Michael Reuter on a Contempt of Court warrant issued by the Middletown Municipal Court. He was held on $2,500.00 bail.

• Justin Barreira, age 19, from Jay Drive in Port Monmouth, NJ, arrested on May 1, 2013 by Corporal Thomas Meckier for Possession of a Prohibited Weapon, Possession of Handcuffs, Possession of an Imitation Firearm and Possession of Brass Knuckles. He was released pending a court date.

• Anthony Schenck, age 23, from Lincoln Street in Linden, NJ, arrested on May 1, 2013 by Patrolman Andrew Micalizzi on a warrant signed by the Long Branch Police Department for Simple Assault. He was released pending a court date.

• Steven Thomas, age 18, from Willis Avenue in Keansburg, NJ, arrested on May 1, 2013 by Officers Bumbico and Richard Fulham of the Quality of Life Unit for Possession of Drug Paraphernalia. He was released pending a court date.

• John Ryan, age 19, from Carr Avenue in Keansburg, NJ, arrested on May 1, 2013 by Officers Richard Fulham and Anthony Bumbico of the Quality of Life Unit for Possession of Drug Paraphernalia. He was released pending a court date.

• Jessica Stone, age 21, from Seadrift Drive in Highlands, NJ, arrested on May 2, 2013 by Patrolman Andrew Micalizzi on Contempt of Court warrant issued by the Atlantic Highlands, Highlands and Keansburg Municipal Courts. She was held on $2,700.00 bail.

• David Santoro, age 51, from Campbell Avenue in Port Monmouth, NJ, arrested on May 2, 2013 by Patrolman Daniel Benbrook for Hindering Apprehension. He was held on $750.00 bail.

• Theresa Costine, age 28, from Kimberly Court in Red Bank, NJ, arrested on May 4, 2013by Patrolman Charles Higgins on a Contempt of Court warrant issued by the South Amboy Municipal Court. She was released on her own recognizance.

• John Balzer, age 56, from South 23rd Street in Kenilworth, NJ, arrested on May 4, 2013 by Patrolman Kent Thornton for Unlawful Possession of a Weapon, Possession of a Weapon for an Unlawful Purpose, Terroristic Threats, Aggravated Assault on a Police Officer, Resisting Arrest, Aggravated Assault with a Deadly Weapon (knife), Obstructing the Administration of Law, and Disorderly Conduct. He was held on $45,500.00 bail set by Judge Richard Thompson.

• Luis Vejar, age 33, from Knollwood Drive in Middletown, NJ, arrested on May 3, 2013 by Patrolman Andrew Siciliano for Simple Assault.  He was held on $2,500.00 bail set by Judge Richard Thompson.

• Brion Cody, age 25, from Railroad Avenue in Belford, NJ, arrested on May 5, 2013 by Patrolman Donald Coates for Possession of under 50 Grams of Marijuana and Possession of Drug Paraphernalia. He was released pending a court date.

• William Flaherty, age 67, from Shore Drive in Highlands, NJ, arrested on May 5, 2013 by Patrolman Brian Dilworth for Driving While Intoxicated and Possession of under 50 Grams of Marijuana. He was released pending a court date.

• Michael Scholl, age 43, from North Shore Drive in Bridgewater, NJ, arrested on May 5, 2013 by Patrolman Raymond Sofield for Possession of under 50 Grams of Marijuana and Possession of Drug Paraphernalia. He was released pending a court date.

• John Pettrow, age 46, from Van Brunt Place in Middletown, NJ, arrested on May 7, 2013 by Patrolman Frank Mazza for Driving While Intoxicated. He was released pending a court date.

• Matthew Drury, age 27, from Emory Drive in Lincroft, NJ, arrested on May 7, 2013 by Patrolman Greg Buhowski for Unlawful Possession of Alprazolam, Possession of Heroin, Possession of under 50 Grams of Marijuana, Possession of Drug Paraphernalia and Possession of a Hypodermic Syringe. He was held on $15,000.00 bail set by Judge Richard Thompson.

• Robert Hodnovich, age 21, from Sage Hill Drive in Red Line, Pa, arrested on May 7, 2013 by Officers Richard Fulham and Anthony Bumbico of the Quality of Life Unit for Possession of under 50 Grams of Marijuana. He was released pending a court date.

• Marela Nieves, age 31, from East Road in Belford, NJ, arrested on May 8, 2013 by Patrolman Ricardo Cruz for Driving While Intoxicated. He was released pending a court date.

• Matthew Thompson, age 55, from Shrewsbury Avenue in Red Bank, NJ, arrested on May 8, 2013 by Patrolman Thomas Hughes and Officers Anthony Bumbico and Richard Fulham of the Quality of Life Unit for Possession of Drug Paraphernalia. He was released pending a court date.

• Tamisha Fisher, age 38, from Dunlewy Street in Asbury Park, NJ, arrested on May 8, 2013 by Patrolman Michael Nolan on Contempt of Court warrants issued by the Middletown Municipal Court. She was held on $1,250.00 bail.

• Amy Matheny, age 43, from Leighton Avenue in Red Bank, NJ, arrested on May 8, 2013 by Patrolman Thomas Hughes for Shoplifting and Robbery from the Shop Rite Store. She was released pending a court date.

• Bruce Ethridge, age 42, from Moran place in Keansburg, NJ, arrested on May 8, 2013 by Corporal Robert McNair for Shoplifting from the Shop Rite Store. He was released pending a court date.

• Kevin Daly, age 20, from Donner Street in Holmdel, NJ, arrested on May 10, 2013 by Patrolman Brian Dilworth for Disorderly Conduct. He was released pending a court date.

• Daniel Notaroberto, age 26, from Cherry Tree Farm Road in Middletown, NJ, arrested on May 9, 2013 by Patrolman Charles Higgins for Receiving Stolen Property. He was held on $5,000.00 bail with a 10% option set by Judge Richard Thompson.

• Michael Baccellieri, age 24, from Heights Terrace in Middletown, NJ, arrested on May 9, 2013 by Lieutenant Robert Stefanski on a Contempt of Court warrant issued by the Orange Municipal Court. He was released after posting $81.00 bail.

• William Dayback, age 23, from Ocean Avenue in Middletown, NJ, arrested on May 9, 2013 by Lieutenant Robert Stefanski on a Contempt of Court warrant issued by the Middletown Municipal Court. He was released after posting $250.00 bail.
