The JBJ Soul Kitchen on Monmouth Street is the setting for a special Spring Into Healthier Cooking event starring chef-nutritionist Diane Henderiks.
Proclaiming that “the warmer weather is finally here!” (and that “it’s time to put the cold weather and comfort foods behind us”), nationally noted nutritionist Diane Henderiks commandeers the kitchen — Jon and Dorothea Bon Jovi’s JBJ Soul Kitchen, that is — for a special Tuesday evening event during which “America’s favorite culinary nutritionist shares her expertise, tips and secrets of how to cook healthy without sacrificing flavor.”
Scheduled for 6:30 to 9 pm at the community restaurant on the western end of Monmouth Street, the Spring into Healthier Cooking Dinner Party offers a four-course meal (see menu pictured above; click to enlarge) during which Monmouth County-based Henderiks shares her recipes for dressings, marinades, herb blends, salsas and spice rubs that are designed to “change a simple piece of protein, bowl of fruit or veggies, pot of whole grain or any basic ingredient into a flavor packed dish.”
The BYOB affair also serves to benefit the ongoing operations of the pay-what-you-can Soul Kitchen.
Seating is limited to 30 attendees for the March 31 event, and reservations ($75 per person) can be made right here.
