The new bridge opened to traffic last May with a long list of unfinished items, including the construction of a pedestrian and cyclist ramp to connect the bridge’s southerly sidewalk with one on Shrewsbury Avenue. Seen here on Wednesday, the ramp isn’t yet open: it still needs a railing, said county spokeswoman Laura Kirkpatrick. If you’d like to know more about this ramp, see this redbankgreen article from 2012.
All work on the $21.9 million project, which included the removal of the span replaced by the new bridge, is expected to be completed by mid-April, Kirkpatrick said. (Photo by Trish Russoniello. Click to enlarge)
