We thought we at redbankgreen had the pulse of our community, until we read the Asbury Park Press and saw this ad on their site. Apparently everyone – as in, all 12,799 residents of this town – love something called “cooling sheets?!” Who knew?
Of course we’re being sarcastic, but it’s just another example of the drivel that clutters web sites powered by Google Ads – which the company calls “an ad experience users love.” Really? Even more than cooling sheets?
We’re also only partially joking. This whole thing is sort of a blatant plug of our own, because this is not something you’ll see on redbankgreen, where Broadstreet Ads ensures even the ads are quality, local and have value. We would never say everyone in Red Bank loves it, but a heck of a lot of people do.
Also why doesn’t the woman in the cooling sheets ad actually have a cooling sheet? Or any kind of sheet? She’s just sleeping right there on the hard floor in front of the open refrigerator. We may need an intervention here. Or maybe just stick with us for your local news – and your local ads.
