The Red Bank Classic 5k and Fun Run returns to the streets of Red Bank Saturday with a slightly more forgiving course, an estimated 1,500 runners hitting the streets and proceeds going to a life-saving program that gives free swim lessons to kids. Later in the day, Pilgrim Baptist Church holds it 10th annual Community Festival “Bike Blessing & Bike Safety Day.”

More than 1,500 runners and walkers are expected at the starting line of the sixth edition of the Red Bank Classic 5K. The charity run/walk promotes community health and raises support for water safety education for borough youth at the Red Bank Family YMCA.
From elite runners and wheelchair racers to casual walkers, the Red Bank Classic 5K welcomes participants of all ages and abilities, leashed dogs too.
New this year: a dedicated adaptive category, celebrating and supporting athletes of all abilities. The race will follow a newly designed, flatter 3.1-mile course certified by USA Track & Field.
After the 5K, participants and families can enjoy a kids’ fun run, bounce house, and a high-energy Fitness Fest featuring wellness activities, health resources, and music. The celebration will continue with a post-race party at The Robinson Ale House.
The 5K will count as a USATF Grand Prix Event. Cash prizes will be awarded to the top three overall female and male finishers and the first male and female masters’ finishers. All adaptive finishers will be recognized, and the top three will receive certificates.
Registration is $45 for the 5K/$25 for Broad Street Dash and available only online at RedBankClassic.com. Premium swag bags are available to the first 1,000 participants who pick up their 5K bibs.
The event champions health and well-being for all, while raising funds for the local Y’s Safety Around Water program, which provides free swim lessons and water safety education to third graders in Red Bank.
After the race, you may be swearing off running for a while and want to use a bike or motorcycle. You’re in luck. See the flyer below for the annual bike blessing event at Pilgrim Baptist Church.
