A ten-apartment building that rose last year on the sight of an old Victorian structure at the corner of Allen Place and Riverside Avenue is up, running and fully rented, the builder says.

One bedroom units in the Shrewsbury Manor at Allen Place complex rent for $3,150 a month. Two bedrooms are fetching $3,700 a month, a company rep told redbankgreen.
The two story building replaced a Victorian structure at 63 Riverside Avenue that housed a law firm; another house on Allen Place and garages on the property.
The latter were used by property owners Philip J. Bowers & Company for parking for tenants of Shrewsbury Manor across the street, which the company also owns. The property now includes 20 spaces for residents of the new building and additional parking for Shrewsbury Manor tenants.
The project approved by the Borough Planning Board in 2021. Construction was completed in June. Philip J. Bowers owns a number of properties around town including 75 West Front Street, 64-68; 70 White Street, which houses the UPS Store and Charles Schwab & Co. And City Centre Plaza, the a 21,750 square foot shopping center home to Walgreens, Chipotle Grill and Dunkin Donuts at the corner of Maple Ave and West Front Street.
