Three months of construction to replace and improve sidewalks begins on Monmouth Street in Red Bank this week.
The project, which entails removing the sidewalk and replacing it with decorative brick paverS from Broad Street to Shrewsbury Avenue will start east and move west, according to an alert sent out by the borough. As each section is done, traffic will be restricted to one direction only.
More than a year ago, the Borough Council approved $250,000 in bonds to help pay for curb and sidewalk improvements along Monmouth Street to augment a $675,000 grant from the State of New Jersey Safety Streets to Transit Grant Program.
