The Monmouth County Prosecutor’s Office identified the two people found dead inside a Red Bank apartment Thursday as an adult female and a juvenile.
The child attended Red Bank Primary School, where Red Bank Borough Schools Superintendent Jared Rumage said in a letter to parents, “our entire school community is grieving this loss.”

In a two-sentence statement released a day after police were called to the home, MCPO officials did not comment on the cause of the deaths or whether investigators had determined the cause.
Prosecutor Raymond Santiago and Red Bank Police Chief Mike Frazee have determined there is no danger to the public, according to the statement.
The Red Bank Police Department and the Monmouth County Prosecutor’s Office Major Crimes Bureau are investigating the deaths, according to the emailed statement from spokesman Mark Spivey.
The bureau assists local municipalities with investigations into homicides, shooting incidents, serious assaults, suspicious fires, bank robberies, as well as fatal and serious motor-vehicle collisions.

The deaths occurred Thursday morning, the statement said. Neighbors told a reporter the bodies were found by a family member.
The tragedy had the Red Bank Public Schools community grieving and faculty arranging services like grief counseling on a day normally marked by Halloween parties and students in costume.
Rumage notified parents of the death in a letter Friday afternoon.
“As a community, we share in this loss and will lean on one another for comfort and strength,” it reads. “We are committed to providing the care and support our students and staff need as we navigate this difficult time together. Thank you for keeping this student’s family, friends, and our entire school community in your thoughts.”
“To support our students and staff, counselors, members of our crisis response team and other outside professional groups trained in dealing with loss will be available next week and for as long as needed,” the letter continues. “If your child would like to speak with someone, or if you feel your family could benefit from additional support, please reach out to the Primary School Main Office at 732-758-1530. Additional resources can also be
found on the Crisis Response page of our website.”
