A vacant lot that has blighted its Red Bank neighborhood for years has gotten a bit of sprucing-up recently.
There are still no immediate plans to build on the property, its owner tells redbankgreen, but stay-tuned, he says.
Longtime readers of redbankgreen may recall our coverage of the teardown of the long-vacant gas station at the corner of Harding Road and Clay Street in 2007. That’s when underground fuel storage tanks were removed, the two-bay repair garage and canopy were torn out and a tall, temporary chain-link fence was erected to surround the property.
That’s how it’s stayed for the last four years.
Last week, a crew took down the fence. The site is now graced by flower baskets hanging from a stanchion and from the sides of a new white sign advertising Ray Rap Realty, the brokerage and development business of property owner Ray Rapcavage.
There’s no imminent development planned, Rapcavage tells us, adding he’s “working on a few concept plans.”
But whatever he settles on, “my intent is to make it one of the most architecturally stunning properties in Red Bank,” he tells us via text.
