PAIR NABBED IN $11K SCAM TRY AT COCO PARI

Two Brooklyn women were in the Monmouth County lockup Thursday after being busted for attempted credit fraud in Red Bank, police said.

From an announcement by Captain Darren McConnell:

On Wednesday, August 29, 2012 the Red Bank Police Department arrested two New York women for Credit Card Fraud. Police responded to a Broad Street store where one of the women
attempted to purchase $11,000 worth of merchandise using a credit card. When the card would not process, the store personnel became suspicious and contacted police.

A subsequent investigation revealed that the card was fraudulent and no credit account existed for the woman attempting to make the purchase. A second woman, who was working in conjunction with the first, was stopped by police as she attempted to leave the area in a vehicle. During the investigation, the women were found to be in possession of numerous other fraudulent credit cards.

Both women were arrested and charged with Credit Card Theft and Fraudulent Use of a Credit Card. They were incarcerated in the Monmouth County Correctional Institution in lieu of $40,000 bail each.

They are identified as Shanierah Aaron, 21, of Brooklyn, NY and Urika Tucker, 25, also of Brooklyn, NY. The investigation is being conducted by Inv. Robert Campanella and Det. Wendy Samis.

McConnell tells redbankgreen the store where the attempted purchase occurred was CoCo Pari, a women’s clothing boutique.
