Friday, April 5:
LINCROFT: Visit Brookdale Community College for the opening reception of Cotillion, the AFA Student Art Show, featuring works by Brookdales second-year fine art students. The reception will take place in the Center for Visual Arts Gallery from 5 to 7 p.m. The work will be on display until April 17. 765 Newman Springs Road.
RED BANK: SPRUNG! A group exhibition of contemporary art kicks off opening night at Gallery U. Celebrate and admire the work of more than 18 artists from 6 to 9 p.m. 80 Broad Street.
SHREWSBURY: The Monmouth County Library hosts Delectable Desserts: A First Friday for Seniors Program. Watch the chefs from Atria Tinton Falls demonstrate their culinary skills as they whip up some decadent desserts. Sample the sweets and learn how to make the dishes featured; recipes will be available. Admission is free and the event starts at 11 a.m. 1001 Route 35 North.

SHREWSBURY: Come to the Guild of Creative Art to marvel at the works of Red Bank Regional High School students at the opening reception of their annual art exhibit. The event runs from 6 -8 p.m. 620 Broad Street.
RED BANK: Whose Line is it Anyway? stars Colin Mochrie and Brad Sherwood take the stage at Count Basie Theater for The Two Man Group, an imrpov comedy show that encourages audience participation. The show starts at 8 p.m. and tickets range from $19.50, $29, $49.50, $65. 99 Monmouth Street.
Saturday, April 6:
SHREWSBURY: Author Justin Drazin (right) visits the Eastern Branch of the Monmouth County Library for a free reading of his childrens book Albert and the Amazing Pillow Monsters. The event starts at 2 p.m. and all ages are welcome. 1001 Route 35 North.
SHREWSBURY: Immerse yourself in Chinese culture at the Monmouth County Library for their free presentation of Chinese history, literature and dance. Listen to some of the most classic stories in Chinese history, and learn how modern artists are incorporating the virtues of Chinese history into their art. Admission is free and the even lasts from 2 to 3 p.m. 1001 Route 35 North.
RED BANK: Anime lovers (grades 6-12) unite for a young adult anime club meeting at the Red Bank Public Library. Meet other anime fanatics, munch on some popcorn, and watch some favorite episodes together. The meeting is free and runs from 3:30 to 4:30 p.m. 84 West Front Street.
LINCROFT: Utilize all five of your senses at the Come to Your Senses benefit concert presented by The Monmouth Museum and Musicians on a Mission. Listen to live bands as they play through five different genres of music; feast your eyes on the presentation From Plate to Paper: The Art of Printmaking; nibble on some tasty finger foods, and sip on some succulent drinks. Relax with a soothing hand or neck massage; buy from a selection of herb plants and roam around the Museum. Tickets are $25; proceeds benefit the Museums educational programs. The event runs from 5 to 8 p.m. 765 Newman Springs Road.
RED BANK: The Electric Baby makes a scene on the Two River Theater Company stage. This adult drama, by award-winning playwright Stefanie Zadravec, follows the lives of three strangers and traces how their paths cross in ways theyd never imagine. Tickets are $24 to $42 and the show begins at 8 p.m. 21 Bridge Avenue.
RED BANK: Watch group shows Say What? and Great Outdoors in the opening reception hosted by The Art of Alliance of Monmouth County. This months window artist Donna Arvelo will serve as a judge. Reception lasts from 6 to 8 p.m. and admission is free. 33 Monmouth Street.
RED BANK: Join Jim Willis along with other Deadheads Joe Cotis, Jason LaViola, Jack Pyrah, Nash Aliaga, and Shadowman as Dead Bank, as they cover the psychedelic tracks of The Grateful Dead at the Walt Street Pub. 180 Monmouth Street.
Sunday, April 7:
LITTLE SILVER: Treat your toddler to a fun music session hosted by the Little Silver Public Library. With your choice between two time slots (9:30 or 10:30 a.m.) register by phone (732.747.6949) or in person and the event is free. 484 Prospect Avenue.
RED BANK: Two River Theater Company hosts Kids Day, open to students in kindergarten through third grade. Kids explore the building on a tour of the theater, get their faces painted, play games, and build their own arts and crafts. There will also be a special information preview of the TRTCs Summer Camp program. The event is free and runs from 10 a.m. to 12 p.m. 21 Bridge Avenue.
