WEEKENDER: BARGAINS, BANDS AND THE BARD

Friday, July 26:

RED BANK: Shop, rock & stroll through Red Bank for the 59th annual sidewalk sale. The weekend-long bargainfest lets shoppers snag clearance and sale items at shops throughout the downtwon. The sale runs 9 a.m. to 8 p.m.

SHREWSBURY: Learn the basics of email at the Eastern Branch of the Monmouth County Library. The session is free and begins at 7 p.m. 1001 Route 35 North.

RED BANK: Chazz Palminteri stops by Count Basie Theatre for a special one-man performance of his play-turned-big-screen-hit “A Bronx Tale,” about a murder Palminteri witnessed when he was young. Tickets are $55, $65, $85, and $150. VIP tickets include a meet and greet with the star. “A Bronx Tale” begins at 8 p.m. 99 Monmouth Street.

RED BANK: Jumpin’ Jack Strobel and friends visit Red Bank for this month’s BYOB house party at the historic Anthony Reckless Estate. Relax on the porch or tour the numerous beautiful rooms of the estate. The night runs from 8:30 to 11 p.m. and all donations go towards the Woman’s Club of Red Bank. 164 Broad Street.

RED BANK: This installment of Two River Theater’s Summer Jazz Café brings some nimble competition: keyboard wizards Brandon McCune and Kyle Koehler join drummer Cecil Brooks III and guitarist Matt Chertkoff for a night of dueling keyboards. The aural fireworks begin at 8 p.m. and tickets are $22. 21 Bridge Avenue.

RED BANK: Five-piece Jersey Shore party band the Haven rocks the Walt Street Pub for an energetic Friday night set. The show begins at 8 p.m. 180 Monmouth Street.

Saturday, July 27:

SHREWSBURY: Learn the craft of watercolor painting when artist Roberta Clark visits the Eastern Branch of the Monmouth County Library for a free demonstration and lesson. The session starts at 1:30 p.m. 1001 Route 35 North.

RED BANK: Red Bank’s Elks Lodge #233 turns into a crime scene for the night when the Stellar Theater Group stops by for a murder mystery dinner. Play detective alongside Captain Dinghy, Monique Lewdinsky and the rest of the gang. Tickets are $30 and the crime solving begins at 6:30 p.m. 40 West Front Street.

RED BANK: Count Basie Theatre is the place for euphoria when the “Happy Together Tour” stops by. Featuring a star-studded line up of the Turtles, Chuck Negron, Mark Lindsay, Gary Puckett & the Union Gap and Gary Lewis & the Playboys, the concert is set to benefit the Light of Day Foundations fight against Parkinson’s. Tickets are $25, $39, $49, $59, $69, $119 and the concert begins at 8 p.m. 99 Monmouth Street.

RED BANK: The Sundries play various and assorted classic rock covers at the Walt Street Pub for a groovy Saturday night set. The show begins at 8 p.m. 180 Monmouth Street.

MIDDLETOWN: The Shakespeare Theater of New Jersey presents its Next Stage touring production of ‘Henry V,’ about the king who earned his crown in the Battle of Agincourt, at the Middletown Main Library in a free performance. The show begins at 2 p.m. 55 New Monmouth Road.

Sunday, July 28:

RED BANK: The weekly Farmers Market lays out its super fresh goods at the  Galleria Red Bank. Located in the parking lot, the market features locally grown produce as well as special crafts and eateries. The market runs from 9 a.m. to 2 p.m. on Sundays until mid-November. Corner of Bridge Ave & West Front Street.

RED BANK: Step up to the mic with Rob Dye and Mike Ghegan at Jamian’s Food & Drink. 8 p.m. 79 Monmouth Street.

SEA BRIGHT: Break out the lawn chairs for the Free Summer Movie Series on the Municipal Beach. Shortly after sunset, “The Princess Bride” will entertain the crowd. The movie showing is free; donations of nonperishable food for local food pantries is appreciated. Check Shore Flicks Twitter and Facebook for weather updates or cancellations. 8:15 p.m.
