Two men were arrested on a leafy Little Silver street Sunday afternoon after what appeared to be a dispute over missing money, police said.
According to Chief Dan Shaffery, police responded to an anonymous call reporting a robbery on Grant Place around 4 p.m.
Two men were stopped on Grant Place, where one of them told police that the other had visited him at his home, on nearby Pinckney Road, and that $200 was missing after the visitor left.
The purported victim of the theft then went over to the visitor’s home and confronted him, Shaffery said.
Neither man was immediately identified. One was expected to be charged with theft, and the other with simple assault, Shaffery said.
Shrewsbury police also responded.
