Monmouth County’s repaving of lower Broad Street began overnight Monday, leaving the road looking half-rough Tuesday.
The roadway has been the site of multiple closures in recent months as the Borough of Red Bank and property owners conducted utility work ahead of the repaving to avoid cutting through the new surface once it’s repaved.
Electronic signs on the roadway indicate the road will be subject to closures from 7 pm to 5 am through October 18.
The roadway (also known as County Road 11) is maintained by the county south of Harding Road and maintained by the Borough north of that intersection.
The paving project appears to stop at that point as well.
