One of Red Bank’s main east-west thorughfares is up for repaving this week, with two overnight closings planned, borough police announced Sunday.
Motorists using some Rumson roads may encounter detours for milling and paving work over the next eight days, the Monmouth County public works and engineering department announced Friday.
Nobody would call West Front Street into and out of Red Bank a dream commute. And here’s another reason to avoid it, if you can: lane closures to allow for the installation by New Jersey Natural Gas of an eight-inch gas line between Morford Place and Rector Place.
[Update: This post has been updated to reflect a change in the dates of the closure.] Monmouth County plans closings of Branch Avenue between Hudson Avenue in Red Bank and White Road in Little Silver for two nights beginning Tuesday, local officials said.

The closure will be in effect until about 7 p.m. Tuesday, run from 7 a.m. through most of the day Wednesday, and will be implemented again on Thursday if necessary, police said. (Click to enlarge)
