The temporary takeover of a block-long island of grass and trees that spans the Red Bank-Little Silver border has neighbors furious.
Red Bank officials said they had no advance notice of the New Jersey American Water Company project, and only learned last week, months into the project, that it had camped out on borough property.

A widespread water outage that began early Saturday with a ruptured main on Rumson Place in Little Silver ended early Sunday morning, according to New Jersey American Water Company.

An unspecified number of of homes and businesses in Little Silver and towns east remained without water service Saturday evening.
Meantime, New Jersey American Water Company ended the boil-water alert issued following the early morning rupture of a 36-inch main on Rumson Place in Little Silver.

A water main break in Little Silver disrupted service to users in at least three towns early Saturday.
The rupture of a 36-inch New Jersey American Water Company main on Rumson Place in Little Silver was expected to take up to 18 hours to repair, officials said.
