Warm meets cold in this week’s installment of PieHole‘s Cool Inside summer series in the form of a sweet treat from a walk-up window in Lincroft.

What’s in it?
To make the Chocolate Chip Cookie Sundae, chocolate syrup is first pumped into the bottom of the sundae cup and swirled around. Next, soft serve vanilla ice cream is added, followed by hot fudge and a warm chocolate chip cookie. Then it’s topped off with whipped cream and chocolate sprinkles.
How did the idea come about?
According to Donna Dorsi, owner of the Lincroft location, the sundae was created by the Ralph’s franchise. The company “thought it would be a good combination,” she says. It was introduced about seven years ag,o when the company began to expand its product line beyond Italian ice to include ice cream.
What’s great about the Chocolate Chip Cookie Sundae?
“Kids love it because they love the warmed-up cookie mixed with the ice cream,” says Dorsi. ” It’s definitely a refreshing treat.”
Of course, it’s not just kids who enjoy it. “It’s one of our best-selling sundaes,” she says.
