RED BANK: FIXX SETTLEMENT EXPECTED

Fixx, the troubled Red Bank nightclub that was facing a license suspension hearing this week, has negotiated a tentative settlement with the borough, redbankgreen has learned.

Mayor Pasquale Menna confirmed on Monday that the deal has led to the cancellation of a trial-like hearing by the borough council that was scheduled for Tuesday evening.

RED BANK: BULLET FIRED INTO APARTMENT

AUTHORITIES_RB2A Red Bank man was arrested earlier this week after a loaded gun he was handling discharged, sending a bullet into a vacant apartment at the Atrium senior housing complex, police said.

Ross Marcovitz, 28, was ordered held on $100,000 bail at the Monmouth County Correctional Institution on charges of illegal discharge of a weapon within borough limits and other crimes, said police Captain Darren McConnell.

According to McConnell, Marcovitz, of Riverview Towers on Riverside Avenue, was in his fifth-floor residence “handling a gun – recklessly handling a gun,” when it went off.

RED BANK: KNIFEPOINT ROBBERY REPORTED

A Red Bank man was arrested Tuesday night on charges that he robbed a pedestrian at knifepoint, police reported.

The 32-year-old male victim, also a borough resident, reported that he was approached by a young Latino male who first demanded money, and when the victim refused, brandished a knife and repeated the demand.

The encounter occurred at about 9:23 p.m. on Monmouth Street near Bridge Avenue, police said.

TRIO CHARGED IN BREAK-IN BEATING

Two Red Bank men and one from Long Branch broke into a home in Tinton Falls Monday and beat an occupant bloody as payback for some perceived wrong, police reported.

Timothy Johnson, 27, of Leighton Avenue, Larry Johnson, 37, of Montgomery Terrace, and Kwame Johnson, 37, of Long Branch, face multiple charges for the alleged attack in a William Street home that left the victim with a contusions and other injuries.

The relationship of the three, if any, was not immediately available.

M’TOWN MAN INDICTED IN STORE ATTACK

The man accused of viciously stabbing a shopper at a Bed Bath and Beyond store in Middletown last January has been indicted on an attempted murder charge by a Monmouth County grand jury, authorities reported Friday.

Tyrik Haynes, a 19-year-old township resident, has been held on $1.05 million bail since the attack, in which a 29-year-old Keansburg woman was repeatedly stabbed in the Route 35 housewares store.

RED BANK MAN CHARGED WITH BURGLARY

A Red Bank man was in the Monmouth County lockup following his arrest late Monday night on a burglary charge, police said.

From a PD announcement Tuesday:

Police arrested Javier Coba-Soriano, 29 years old, Red Bank for committing a burglary to a Shrewsbury Avenue residence. The resident called police at 10:25 Monday night reporting that an unknown male was in her residence and had fled upon seeing her. Responding officers found that the actor had made entry through an unlocked first floor window.
