Following up on a packed-house event held in June, Clean Ocean Action and other environmental groups are planning a ‘Rally to Save the Navesink’ from fecal coliform and other forms of runoff-borne pollution this month.
The event, scheduled for Thursday, August 11 at 7 p.m. at the First Presbyterian Church of Rumson, will feature updates from the New Jersey Department of Environmental Protection’s source-tracking sampling of the river, followed by discussions of how individuals and groups can help the pollution-reduction effort.
There’s more information available via a Facebook page for the event. And here’s a COA report on the problem: COA Navesink Pathogens 062816.  (Photo by John T. Ward. Click to enlarge)
