That cacophony you’re producing each night could be more than just a simple snore, and the folks at Riverview Medical Center want to get you acquainted with a sleep disorder that millions suffer from.
Members of the hospital’s sleep center will host a presentation, Snore No More, next Tuesday afternoon on the symptoms, health risks and treatment options for sleep apnea.
The pervasive sleep disrupter can do more harm than just wake up your bedmate — it can have serious effects on the brain, heart and lungs, as well as stop your breathing altogether.
A respiratory therapist will join Riverview staff in going over the disorder and also give an overview of products and services to get in a good night’s sleep.
The event, which runs from 2 to 3:30p in the hospital’s Blaisdell Auditorium, is free, but registration is required. Call 1-800-DOCTORS to register.
