POLICE SCANNER ALERT BACKFIRES ON TEEN

In a roundup of police activity in Fair Haven, authorities report a case of vandalism, not-so-crafty teens trying to avoid capture by carrying a police scanner and a car fire last week.

Fair Haven’s cop blotter for the month of June appears unedited below.

6/5/11

-Ptl. Hostrup took a report from a Fairwaters Ln. resident that a fence post had been stolen from their property sometime overnight.

-Ptl. Hostrup took a report of a pedestrian being struck by a water bottle that was thrown from a moving vehicle. The accused individuals, being juveniles, were located and issued motor vehicle summonses for littering and violating the conditions of a provisional driver’s license. Another juvenile was arrested and charged with Intercepting Official Communications and Obstructing  Administration of Law as he was found to have tipped the accused juveniles after hearing police radio transmissions while in possession of a police radio.

6/9/11

-Ptl. Patton took a report of vandalism that occurred to 4 light fixtures at the Fair Haven Fields.

6/12/11

-Ptl. Jarvis and Det. Dykstra arrested and charged Jason Tetorka, age 35 of Fair Haven, with Defiant Trespass, Disorderly Conduct, Resisting Arrest and Aggravated Assault. Mr. Tetorka was  released on his own recognizance pending court proceedings.

6/13/11

-Ptl. Patton took a report of vandalism that occurred at the ACME shopping Center, River Rd. Unknown individual(s) spray painted letters on an outside wall to the building.

-Ptl. Patton took a report of a ‘Stop’ sign and a ‘No Left Turn’ sign stolen from the intersection of Jackson St. and Hance Rd.
6/18/11

-Ptl. Hostrup took a report from a Third St. resident that unknown actor(s) had stolen the driver side mirror off of his car.

-Ptl. Patton took a report of an aluminum bench being removed from a Kemp Ave. property and was later found, broken, at a nearby house.

-Ptl. Lagrotteria arrested and charged Justin Hudack, age 23 of Bayonne, NJ, with DWI.

6/25/11

-Special Officer Reevey took a report of vandalism to a mail box on Lewis Point Rd.

-2 borough juveniles and 2 Rumson juveniles were arrested for eluding and 1 of the juveniles for resisting arrest.

6/29/11

-Ptl. Hostrup arrested and charged Alexander J. Heagney, age 18 of Locust, NJ, with Possession of CDS-Cocaine.

6/30/11

-Patrols responded to a report of vehicle fire on Third St. The Fair Haven Fire Department responded and extinguished the fire.

The following individuals were arrested on warrants for Contempt of Court:

-Wayne Bright, 64, Fair Haven

-Terrence McMahon, 41, Fair Haven

-Jose Soto, 32, Atlantic Highlands

-Manuel Sotogonzales, 37, Long Branch
