It’s called the Metropolitan, and it’s hefty sandwich of maple honey ham, provolone, lettuce, tomato and roasted peppers with your choice of dressing – we had the Russian – on a bagel.

Tasted great. All the ingredients obviously fresh. But what knocked us out was the price: $5.20. And it comes with a huge side of potato salad.

Locals Creative Fresh Takeout soft-launched January 7, offering a menu of sandwiches to-go in a space where Rumsonites lined up for decades at Butler’s Deli, which closed in October.

Yes, it’s true. Fans of the Amazins are once again flocking to Queens in larger-than-normal numbers, which can mean up to 45,000 mouths to feed. And what are those ballpark disciples devouring? Baloney!

Ok, bologna, to be more precise. But it’s no baloney that Ross DiMiceli, owner of Atlantic Bagel Co. in Rumson, pays homage to his favorite team by copying a sandwich he’s had at Citi Field.
