COUNCIL MULLS NEW FIRE POLICE TRUCK
Red Bank officials have posted the purchase of a new fire police truck for just under $90,000 on tonight’s council agenda.
The all-volunteer fire police provide traffic and scene control at fires and other emergencies.
According to a resolution up for consideration, $83,976 would be paid to P.L. Custom Vehicles for the truck, and another $5,884 would go to Absolute Fire Protection Co. for loose equipment required for the truck.
There was another, lower bid for the truck, at $73,327, the resolution says. But it’s recommended for rejection by the council because the consortium of Larenceville Ford and Odyssey Custom Vehicles “contained several material deviations” from the bid specs, the resolution says.

The council meets at 5:30p tonight at borough hall.
