RED BANK: RIVERCENTER ‘VISION’ SHARPENS

After four months of public meetings, Red Bank RiverCenter‘s effort to redefine its vision began coming into focus Monday night.

Topping a list of six priorities that the downtown promotion agency should focus on is a “reimagined, redeveloped and reinvigorated riverfront,” a consultant told several dozen business owners and borough residents at the Two River Theater.

RED BANK: FOGGY, SOGGY DAYS AHEAD

Goldfish crackers dropped on West Front Street in Red Bank during Monday’s persistent rains seemed to reflect the soggy mood of this week’s weather.

Expect heavy fog Tuesday morning, followed by a mostly cloudy day, one that could also bring rain and thunderstorms, according to the National Weather Service. That’s pretty much what the extended forecast includes, too; check it out below.

A van struck a two parked vehicles, sending one about 20 feet down West Front Street, according to a person on the scene, and then smashed into the West Front Street entrance of Brothers Restaurant in Red Bank shortly before 9 p.m. Sunday.

Criminal Mischief:  A Traffic cone was reported to be thrown into a window causing it to break in the area of Shrewsbury Ave on 08/02/18.

Theft:  A parked vehicle whose windows were slightly open was reported to be broken into in the area of W Bergen Pl on 08/17/18. Items missing from the vehicle are a Black Wallet containing $7.00 cash, bank cards and a driver’s license, Insurance card, $100.00 cash from the console and a pack of Newport Cigarettes. Ptl. RED BANK: HEAT INDEX TO TOP 100 AGAIN

Labor Day is past, but summer steamrolls on Tuesday, when heat and humidity are expected to yet again yield a combined index of 100 in the area that includes the Greater Red Bank Green.

The National Weather Service has issued a heat advisory for the region from 11 a.m. to 7 p.m.
