Police say a male subject approximately 6’00 tall, 175 pounds, wearing a black hooded sweatshirt, blue jeans, a black mask and blue surgical gloves entered the store and approached the cashier.

COPS: DRIVER HID DRUG BAG IN HIS MOUTH

• On October 21, 2011 at approximately 12:40 am officers were dispatched to the area of Highway 35 near Kings Highway to check for a vehicle that had struck another in Hazlet Township and fled the scene. Officer Greenwood located the vehicle and conducted a motor vehicle stop. Officers approached the driver, identified as William Buckalew, age 26, from Seadrift Avenue in Highlands, NJ, at which point they detected the odor of an alcoholic beverage coming from inside the car.

The officers conducted an investigation which resulted in Buckalew being arrested for Driving While Intoxicated and Reckless Driving. He was transported to police headquarters where he was processed and released pending a court date. Buckalew was also issued motor vehicle summonses by the Hazlet Township Police Department.

COPS SHUT DOWN MIDDLETOWN BAR

mtown-police-carMiddletown police shut down a bar/liquor store last weekend after an inspection showed none of the employees had state-issued cards to serve alcohol.

The inspection also yielded the arrest of two employees, one of which received additional drug charges when he was found to have cocaine in his possession, Detective Lieutenant Steve Dollinger said.

SCREAMING AT COP GETS PASSENGER CUFFS

• On May 21, 2011 at approximately 1:25 am Patrolman Richard Fulham was on patrol in the area of Thorne School when he observed a suspicious vehicle parked in the parking lot and a package of Budweiser beer sitting on the ground near the driver’s side door.

Officer Fulham approached the vehicle and conducted an investigation which resulted in Matthew Griffith, age 19, from Pacific Boulevard in Cliffwood Beach, NJ, being arrested for Possession of Alcohol Underage. He was transported to police headquarters where he was processed and released pending a court date.

MIDDLETOWN POLICE BLOTTER

The crime reports below were provided by the Middletown Township Police Department for the week of April 29 to May 6, 2011. The information appears here unedited.

mtown-cruiser• On May 5, 2011 at approximately 3:45 pm police responded to Normandy Park in reference to a report of a person who had found a baggie containing Marijuana and wished to turn it into the police. Upon arrival Patrolman Nicholas Fenezia retrieved the Marijuana from the caller and began an investigation.

Officer Fenezia was able to determine that the Marijuana belonged to a 15 year old male juvenile who was playing in the park. Patrolman Fenezia arrested the juvenile and transported him to police headquarters where he was charged with Possession of under 50 grams of Marijuana. The juvenile was processed and released to his father pending a court date.
